Inspired by the energy of wild open spaces and untamed coastlines, I paint bold and spirited landscapes that express my connection to these places and time spent in them.
Working in oil, acrylic and mixed media I pull upon my plein air sketches, found objects and memories of time spent in the landscape to inform my work.
My process centres around explorations of colour, texture and mark making, to create a history within the layers of my paintings. I aim to instil energy and ambiguity within the image so that the viewer can connect to their own memories and experiences of wild, ethereal landscapes.
Since training at the Malvern School of Art I have exhibited throughout Wales and the Midlands, and now have work in galleries and private collections in the UK and abroad. I am active in a number of thriving art communities and love to share my practice through bespoke tutor workshops for new and developing artists.
My work is available to view on my website and you are welcome to arrange a studio visit any time. If you'd like to keep in touch, get exclusive previews of new works and invitations to exhibitions, as well as get arty hints and tips, you can sign up to my monthly news letter via my website.
