I am a leisure painter who produces one off original pieces. I really enjoy being able to show and demonstrate my work to people and it gives me so much pleasure when someone feels they wish to hang one of my paintings in their home.
One of the most important things for me to try to achieve in my paintings, particularly commissions of peoples pets but also other animals where I imagine a personality for them, is to show their character in the finished piece. When I manage to achieve this, it brings the whole piece to life.
I will be demonstrating how I build an animal portrait during Worcester Open Studios, with examples of the stages on show, too.
