Vivid, dynamic contemporary abstract works on canvas, made in my Worcester home studio. I use a variety of acrylic fluid art techniques to create paintings which have impact from a distance but also incorporate fascinating details. My works, although abstract, often echo the natural world such as, floral and botanical structures, ancient organic forms and fluid movement. I find fluid art is a little like taming a beast, you have to work with it despite it wanting to do it's own thing, so the process is a constant balancing act! Outcomes can never be 100% predictable, which keep the process engaging for me.
My paintings can be found in private collections across the UK, Europe and the USA. From Cornish heritage, I was born in Ludlow, studied in Shrewsbury and Hull, completing a Fine Art (sculpture) degree, then moved onto ceramics and ran my own small pottery. I later completed a PGCE and taught art to secondary level in Gloucestershire and West Sussex, before moving to Hong Kong for seven years. Returning with a family I then had a career in youth adventure travel. I returned to creating my own art in 2018. After discovering, learning and perfecting techniques in fluid art, I found my niche and am producing exciting results.
