It’s time to dust off my tools and get the jewellery shining. I’ve not been able to work for the past 18 months but I am looking forward to getting the studio ship-shaped and welcoming you back.
My studio sits in the middle of my garden on the side of the beautiful Malvern Hills - how lucky am I! Surrounded by nature and lovely walks I can’t think where I could be more inspired. Come along and have a look for yourself, and while you’re here take a peep at my jewellery.
I fell into jewellery making in 2000, not something I had ever thought of doing but after a few weeks I was well and truly hooked. My training as an archaeologist lead me in to the wonderful world of rock art, the marks on rocks made by our ancestors many thousands of years ago. This in turn has taken me to some amazing sites and has proved to be great inspiration for my jewellery designs. I love to travel, walk and run and always have an eye open for something that could lead to a new design, be it a pebble or shell on a distant beach or grasses in the adjoining field.
My other influence is the interplay of light and texture, the way changing the surface of the metal reflects the light and brings new interest, through processes such as plenishing and reticulation.
Please note we are located down a single track dirt lane and parking is limited. There are a few spaces on the drive (it’s easiest to reverse in) and there is a gravelled pull-in for 3 vehicles opposite the field gate, just before the houses. The track is in constant use (including a tractor) so please be mindful when parking.
