I enjoy drawing, photography and painting but I am primarily a linocut printmaker. My work reflects my love of nature. I take inspiration from walking on the hills, holidays and observing the world around me. I am interested in the overall composition of my work and like to achieve a pleasing balance of cut and uncut areas. I produce monochrome and coloured multi-block and reduction prints. Reduction means I use just one block, cutting away after I have printed each layer. When it's finished, there's little of the original lino left. The lino is hand inked and then printed either by burnishing (with a spoon or baren) or putting in a book or etching press.
I have a small studio in my garden. I am a member of St. Peter's Printmakers and Malvern Sketchers.
My work has been exhibited at : Number 8 Gallery Pershore ;Take 4 Gallery Ledbury ; and Bridgnorth Open House Art Trail; to name a few.
I have illustrated several books and pamphlets in collaboration with Letterpress Printmaker Andrew Judd including "The Moneths" by Nicholas Breton and "Household Poems" by Edward Thomas ( Belmont Hall Press).
