Mixed Media Textile Artist Biography
I’m a mixed media textile artist whose work explores the intricate relationship between humans and nature. My primary mediums are machine sculptural embroidery and sculpture, incorporating found objects and recycled materials to bring my vision to life. I find immense inspiration in the textures and narratives of discarded items, transforming them into art that resonates with a deeper ecological and emotional connection.
Through my artwork, I aim to highlight the beauty and resilience of nature, as well as the impact of human activity on our environment. Each piece is a dialogue, a blend of textile, natural fibers, and other recycled materials that tells a unique story of renewal and harmony.
I have always been fascinated by the way textiles can mimic organic forms and structures. This fascination led me to experiment with machine embroidery techniques, allowing me to create intricate, sculptural pieces that capture the fluidity and complexity of natural forms. My sculptures often feature organic motifs, interwoven with the unexpected textures and shapes of repurposed materials, reflecting the intricate and sometimes chaotic relationship between humanity and the natural world.
In my practice, sustainability is a core value. By using recycled materials, I not only reduce waste but also challenge the conventional perceptions of beauty and utility in art. I believe that through art, we can foster a deeper appreciation for the environment and encourage more sustainable practices in our daily lives.
My work has been showcased in galleries and exhibitions, where I invite viewers to explore the tactile and visual experiences of my creations. It is my hope that my art not only delights the senses but also inspires a thoughtful consideration of our relationship with the environment and the role we play in shaping its future.
