Hailing from Wales and living in Worcestershire I have a love of spirited landscapes, the tangled hedges, rolling hills and turbulent coastlines. My art expresses a personal experience of the landscape, its harsh wildness and organic beauty, interwoven with the industrial and historical influences and landmarks. I create bold, expressive paintings with a sense of what it feels like to be in the landscape, rather than standing apart from and looking upon it.
My art practice has developed from a love of plein air mark making and studio exploration. I work across the spectrum of mixed media, creating multiple layers to capture my response to the landscape and a meaningful history within the image.
Since completing Art and Design programme at Malvern Hills College in 2020 I have exhibited throughout the UK, including at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists Summer Show 2023 and solo exhibitions at Spring Gallery Cheltenham. I now have work in private collections in the UK and abroad and run popular artist workshops to share the lessons of my painting journey.
