I'm Jo Bonomini, a landscape and abstract painter with a passion for exploring darker themes through mixed media collage. My work is characterized by a deep fascination with colour, which is a common thread across all my creations. Whether I'm capturing the serene beauty of an English landscape or delving into the complexities of abstract expression, colour is always at the forefront of my artistic vision.
Nature is my primary source of inspiration, particularly landscapes of Malvern, where I live, as well as the rugged coastlines of Cornwall and the rolling hills of the Lake District. These places, rich in natural beauty and history, profoundly influence my work, grounding it in the ever-changing seasons and the poignant reminder of "memento mori"—the Latin phrase that encourages reflection on the transient nature of life.
Through my art, I aim to convey the fragile beauty of our surroundings, inviting viewers to pause and reflect on the world around them.
Available for business and private commission work, I also hold a extensive back catalogue of original paintings and prints for sale directly email jobonomini@gmail.com.
