I paint in oils from my studio at the foot of the beautiful Malvern Hills.
I love the flexibility and challenge that oil paints present and I'm interested in exploring how this medium can be used to convey mood and atmosphere, to depict beauty, to encapsulate a sense of place, and to evoke emotions and memories.
Structure, colour, shapes and lines all jostle for attention in the subjects that I am drawn to, but they can be fast moving clouds over countryside, the stillness of an open book on a favourite chair, figures in a park, or blooms in a jug.
