My unique and original art is inspired by the beauty and fragility of the natural world. My art is sometimes serious, sometimes quirky but always curious.
I use the cyanotype process for alot of my work. I really enjoy the serendipity and versatility of the process. I work with a combination of found natural materials as well as collage to make my images and the monochrome colour inherent to the process gives the work a cohesiveness which I like. using sunlight to create the atworks link them closeley to nature.
I add details with gold leaf, ink and paint and sometimes tone them to give them an overall different colour.
I also draw and paint.
I have an MA in Fine Art. Solo exhibitons include Fulham Palace in London, Winterbourne Gardens in Birmingham and Nuneaton Museum and Art Gallery. I have been shortlisted for several prize exhibtions including The Jerwood Drawing Prize, The John Ruskin prize and The Shoosmiths Art Prize and obtained Arts Council Funding for projects.
I exhibit regularly in selected group exhibtions and my work is held in both private and public collections.
I write a blog on my website which gives insight into my working practices and inspirations. You can also sign up to my newsletter.
