Hi! I’m Joshua Rouse and I’m a traditional sign painter and all round artist! I do this alongside working a full time job but one day hope that I can follow my creative path full time! I first started out hand painting logos and images onto boxing canvases for the likes of Sky Sports, BT Sports, Frank Warren and many more! Some of my key works from this time are painting canvases for Anthony Joshua vs Klitschko or Tony Bellew vs David Haye! Seeing my work on TV was really inspiring and it was so fun telling people about it to the response of ‘I had no idea they were painted’
Since then I have made signs in my own time whenever I can even when my full time job changed! I’m a creative at heart and always look into different discipline and art forms and I generally love any creative outlet! I often find myself creating digital art which helps me produce work like menus, logos or art for different local businesses! I guess this comes from the commercial aspect of signpainting! Staying with the modern requirements but always heading back to the traditional routes which I absolutely love, I see nothing wrong with blending these techniques but I like to use the old school techniques as much as I can as I really enjoy the process!
I recently joined The Artery Studios and have a studio space there, I plan on creating exhibitions and events, I have already ran the Artery’s first ‘Art swap’ and plan for more! I love every minute of being there and the opportunities it brings about, not to mention that everyone there is so talented and friendly!
I dream about being a full time artist and I’ll do whatever it takes to get there!
