I am a contemporary abstract artist drawing inspiration from both the natural world and deeper conceptual questions. I have studied psychology, film studies, psychotherapy, languages, as well as fine art and with hindsight can see an overarching theme throughout my lifetime of studies: boundaries. This has led me to become fascinated with this subject in every which way, from with the beginnings of life to endings and ideas around death. Cosmology, nuclear physics and embryology have and still form part of my inspiration. I can equally be fascinated by the change in geography and landscape which is delineated by a fence or stream.
I hold these ideas lightly, so that when I make art, this is a background buzz. Currently I am fascinated by natural water courses, i.e. streams and rivers, by the colours, transparency, ripples, patterns and distortion of what lies below the surface.
