Why do I do what I do, this is a tricky question but I think the answer is colour. Glass has lots of colour and for me the brighter and bolder the better, no shrinking violets allowed here.....!
I'm surrounded by colour in the form of fields, hills and hedgerows, so that's greens and flower colours sorted. As a wild swimmer I've got lakes and rivers nearby so that's the blues ticked off and a quick trip into the Cotswolds gives me purples in the form of lavender fields and bluebells at different seasons.
I try different styles to give variety but at the moment I love the look of mosaics as this means `I can get different shades into the piece whilst still knowing what I'm looking at - I'm not a natural abstract person, I need to know what I'm looking at!
Having done glass for over 10 years I still like to experiment with different techniques to see what can be done and I do like to mix fused glass with leadwork and copper foiling to get unique panels.
