I am a print-maker and pastellist. I use the reduction method of print making, hand carving natural linoleum and then printing on paper with water based inks. To achieve the different colours, the lino is carved back (reduced) for each change of colour. Eventually there is very little lino left. Artists have to decide in advance how many prints to make and this then creates ‘an edition’. If you see something similar to 1/10 on the bottom of a lino print, it is likely to be made by the reduction method . My print work on fabric is undertaken using softer, synthetic 'lino' and printed on linen: the fabric is then made into contemporary items. Finally, I also print using the etching method.
For my pastel works I use soft Unison pastels, combined with pastel pencils, working on mount board, which has often been primed with pastel ground. My web address is www.sallyannemorgan.co.uk
My work has been exhibited a number of times, for example at the RBSA in Birmingham and The Mall Galleries London and outside of England, sold work can be found in New Zealand; New York and Wales. I am an artist with Bevere Gallery, Worcester and Pure Art in Milford Haven.
