Jude was a late comer to art, and has only been seriously painting for around 5 years. Having dabbled with watercolour originally, she now works mostly with pastels and paints wildlife and pet portraits, with the occasional landscape for variety.
Originally, she joined evening classes to learn to use watercolours, and found she really enjoyed painting in the company of other people, so now attends classes every week to enable her to create her art with likeminded people, and further develop her skills.
She undertakes commissions for pet portraits, and feels wherever possible it is good to meet the animal so she can get to know its character and incorporate this into the artwork.
She finds painting a great escape from day to day routine and would encourage anyone to try their hand at painting, as being able to draw well is not a prerequisite, interpretation is the more important element.
More of her work can be seen on her FaceBook page, jrs art, and she can be contacted via FaceBook or email to judesart578@gmail.com
She will be showing her work in Feckenham Village Hall and will be demonstrating how she builds a painting for animal portraiture
