I create colourful batik pieces using dyes and hot wax as a resist, using a tchanting to apply the wax. The layers are built up using a dye bath and more wax. I love this process as the end result is always a surprise until the wax is removed at the end. Some of my pieces are framed and some are hangings. Because I love the dye process I also use other techniques to dye pieces of cloth which I have for sale. I paint in oils and acrylics, often moody trees and landscapes and the odd abstract. Taking my dyeing further I now dye Alpaca fleece and hand spin it into soft art yarn, which is hypo allergenic, as I love melding the colours together. Some of my original yarn is knitted up into 100% alpaca scarves and wraps, and I will have skeins of art yarn for sale.
