Although I gave up architectural practice in 1979 I have not lost interest in architecture as the subject of my paintings and drawings, mostly watercolours but including oils, acrylics and etchings. My first exhibition was well over half a century ago but, even before that my work was reflecting everything that I enjoyed about my surroundings, particularly historical architecture, townscapes and landscapes. By concentrating on some of the less obvious aspects of subjects I try to pass on my interest and enthusiasm for places that I depict and encourage people to reconsider what they might think familiar.
